From my first conversation with Johnny, to the handling of all my details with Nay, to the wondrous personalization provided by Sergio during the entire trip, I had an absolutely GREAT time! The hotel stays were very nice, clean, and attentive. The reservations for our dinners were at amazing locations with phenomenal dishes - places we would have never found on our own! The historic tours were insightful, the flexibility during the trip was an absolute gem. The people of Cuba are truly wonderful folk. There is no way we could have done all we did without the excellent curation of events CPT put together for us. From a trip to the old Afro Cuban Town of Régla to hiking through the mountains in Trinidad we had a varied itinerary that allowed us enjoy the soul of Cuba. Without question, this is one of the best travel companies we’ve ever worked with. The level of care and detail that went into planning our multi-generational family adventure last month was extraordinary. We spent 9 activity packed days in Cuba, starting with the incredible landscapes of Vinales, moving on to the faded grandeur of Havana, and ending with the colorful colonial town of Trinidad and the coast. Every step of the way, we were accompanied by experts in their fields, from art historians to Hemingway specialists to agriculturists, who really brought this beautiful country to life for us. We were even able to squeeze in a salsa lesson and an fun family photo shoot in Havana. Every activity felt meaningful, and what stood out most was the way Cuba Private Travel connected us with the local community, whether it was over a simple but delicious lunch at a farmer’s home on the slopes of Vinales, or a food market tour in Havana where we learnt how ordinary Cubans navigate the government food ration system. Power cuts and spotty internet are par for the course outside of Havana, but even that couldn’t put a damper on our trip. Our concierge Nay was waiting at the hotel to introduce herself and to our guide Rubin. From there, we had four days of an impeccably planned itinerary. Rubin is a wonderful guide, and we were also provided specialty guides for different sites. We were very happy with all the restaurant selections and our hotel. The team in Havana answered all our questions and made the process so easy. Our guide Ray was perfect, made all the right suggestions and catered to all of our needs. The authentic experiences are what we enjoyed the most from having meals in families homes and staying at local hotels that offered so much charm. To top it off it was my wife’s birthday. Michael Levgur16 February 2025We just came back to New York from a seven-day tour in Cuba with Cuba Private Travel company. So far, my wife and I had visited 78 countries, mostly with travel companies and we must admit that we had never encountered such an efficient, reliable and honest company whose only aim is to make sure it traveling customers will have fun. It all started with an unexpected problem as Smartours, the company that we were suppose to go with in Cuba, had announced that it is getting out of business and cancel our prepaid arranged supposed to start in 3 days. Hearing from a good friend who had just come back from Cubal about Alex Correa I called him and that was how I got to call Johnny Considine, the president to Cuba Privat Travel. He agreed to take over and create a wonderful tour in Cuba for my wife and me as well as the two other couples. Johnny was so nice and accommodating, well above my expectations, especially considering the circumstances. He had come with a great itinerary, tailored perfectly to our need and in accord to the one we were supposed to have with the failed SmarTours. Cuba Private Travel company was kind enough to arrange for our entry visas to Cuba and we could not have done it without the help of Nay, member of the staff. Upon arrival to La Habana we had received the VIP treatment, courtesy of the company. It actually was more than VIP; It was royal treatment. We met Daniel Rodriguez, a truly wonderful and caring man who served as our guide for the first and the last days in Cuba. He truly had demonstrated real concerns for our needs and tried his best to solve problems in Grand Aston Hotel. Upon leaving, he who would not leave the airport until we entered the gate. Alex Correa was our guide for the rest of the tour and again, like Daniel, he had shown concern and responsibility, making sure that all our needs are fulfilled to full satisfaction. Both him a d Daniel were delightful and had demonstrated vast knowledge in every topic in regard to Cuba, history, culture, music, food, politics etc. Our driver Juan, a true gentleman was terrific, helpful and truly a professional who had brought us to various destination through narrow, dark and uneasy for driving streets. It is hard for me to go into more details but all I can say that this was one of the best three trips, if not the number one trip we had ever taken. I will highly recommend to everybody who wants to visit this wonderful country to get in touch with Mr. Johnny Considine to arrange for a tour in Cuba. I would definitely try to convince those who have no particular desire for such visit to raise their curiosity to see and call Private Travel for a tour they will never forget. Everyone and every detail from start to finish- from our fab and incredibly well- informed guide Alex who was with us every step of the way to answer and address our million questions , to our incredibly professional driver who drove us around the entire country at all hours of the day and night, to all of the special guides and top experts that were utilized on a daily basis- all of these people came together to deliver a truly once in a lifetime experience for myself and my family. We not only really enjoyed ourselves with the fun daily experiences but felt enriched, incredibly well looked after and energized from the moment we landed until the moment we sadly had to leave. Sarah Robertson6 February 2025I wasn't sure what to expect of our recent trip to Cuba with Cuba Private Travel. This was a family trip with our adult kids (21 year old twins) We were a little apprehensive traveling from the US but CPT took care of every detail and it was flawless. They created an itinerary that was thoughtful and spoke to all the diverse interests in the group and allowed us to create memories that I will treasure always. I don't know where to start, visiting the tobacco farm, salsa lessons, walking tours that touched on jewish cuba to historical / political tours, cooking lesson, bike tours, the fabulous vintage cars, all the individual guides were experts in their fields and enhanced every experience. CPT also created special meetings and private intimate experiences with a previous Ambassador, musicians, artists in their studios the lists goes on. Supporting a myriad of activities was our guide Alex who was with us at every step, changing itineraries as we went so we could take advantage of the unexpected, CPT surprised us one night with ballet tickets, another time we all jumped into a movie theater. Alex was extremely knowledgable and managed to answer our millions of questions every day and it was a real pleasure to get to know him over our 12 days in Cuba. My lasting memories will come from all the different cuban people we met, their resilience, their love of their country and their authenticity. Havana is everything you think it will be and more, you could not be in better hands than with CPT. Soroa, Vinãles ,Bay of Pigs, Cienfuegos, Trinidad , Santa Clara and Varadero.We enjoyed a number of private tours with Cuba Private Travel . This included a colonial , revolution and Art tour in Havana, A tobacco plantation tour from seed to cigar , a mountain horse riding trek , sugar plantation tour and The Che Memorial in Santa Clara plus others. These were all exceptional and all of the individual guides were extremely knowledgeable ,friendly and helpful. In particular a special mention has to go to our personal guide Reinier who was with us for 12 days. He was a superb guide in every way. He was always there for us day and night, helpful, friendly and approachable. He found us some local bars and restaurants on our journeys that were just what we wanted and showed us some extra sights that we really enjoyed. He drove us approximately 900 hundred kilometres on our recent trips and he was an excellent driver at all times and considering the condition of some Cuban roads that is amazing!. Prior to this, we had had difficulty in arranging travel and booking local accommodation ourselves. We found Cuba Private Travel to be very responsive, and able to tailor the trip to our needs. On arrival in Havana, we were met by a member of the team had VIP transfer from arrival to the hotel. Cuba Private Travel arranged all of our travel requirements and booking in the type of accommodations that we were wanting. Our guide was Juan Carlos who was excellent, and guided us with humour and professionalism. In the background, Nay and Dany were approachable, and patient without ever-changing needs during the trip, including sourcing medication during our trip. They were able to book restaurants and places of interest without any difficulty. Once back in Havana, we had assistance of Miguel and his vintage car who was able to take us around Havana despite our last-minute request. Emmy Pilant20 October 2024This was a once in a lifetime trip, and I would implore everyone to go to Cuba at least once in their lives!! I’ll break everything down by category: Hotel: we stayed at the Elvira Hotel, which was a boutique hotel located in the heart of Old Havana. The staff was absolutely lovely, and it was amazing to start the day off with Lisbeth’s breakfast and end the night with one of Jorge’s drinks. The bedroom was also great and came with a bathtub as well as a shower. The hotel also had 3 beautiful rooftop patios where you could watch the sunset and enjoy a drink. We never once felt unsafe walking to/from the hotel, as the local neighbors were always looking out for us :) Food: We did not have a single bad meal in Cuba! Every restaurant we went to was delicious (but be prepared for a lot of seafood). Our favorite restaurants were La Guarida, Paladar Los Mercaderes, El Cocinero, El Del Frente and Cinco Sentidos. Tours: We did a gangster/mafia tour, a food tour, and a panorama tour (in a convertible vintage car), all of which were very interesting and had very informative and friendly guides. We also went to the Art Factory, which I highly recommend doing if you have the opportunity!! What made the trip truly special, though, was the people. Every Cuban we met was incredibly kind, thoughtful, and generous. Hearing their perspectives played a key role in shaping our trip. Having previously travelled with CPT we had a good idea of how the holiday would pan out — with pretty much everything planned for us, but also with plenty of free time for us to do as we pleased. Before the trip we gave a basic description of where we wanted to travel to again, along with a rough idea of planned activities. The itinerary was fine-tuned over a couple of weeks and our requested stays in Havana, Viñales, and Trinidad were all booked with a couple of additional nights elsewhere to help with timing. We were collected from the airport in two classic cars, which were “ours” for the next couple of days. Sergio introduced himself as our guide for the whole two weeks, and what an amazing travel companion he was; funny, friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable — making additional arrangements whenever needed as the holiday progressed. Our driver, Hamish was great too. The other guides we met away from Havana were equally wonderful, all founts of knowledge, giving us valuable insights into their individual cities. Travelling around the island was much more comfortable than during our previous trip — a whole minivan that could seat 10 for just the four of us — and all journeys were literally a door-to-door service. All the pre-planned activities were perfect and professionally hosted — rock climbing, watching ballet training, a horse carriage tour of Viñales, cigar and rum tasting… We do hope to travel to Cuba again; it took us six years to save up since time, so we’ll be in touch again in 2030! Finally, one of our party has MS, and was adversely affected by the heat. This meant they couldn’t walk long distances. This was dealt with without fuss or issue and they were looked after at all times.Posted on Google
Gabriel Vignoli7 September 2024The BEST experience and service. It was 3 children (7, 9 and 10), my 83 year old mother and myself. The service was impeccable, and the crew (Javián, Vladimir and Miguel) made our experience beautifully unforgettable by taking us where we wanted, teaching the children many sea tricks, and preparing sumptuous meals. Sam30 August 2024We had an amazing time with Cuba private travel. We visited Havana, Vinales, Playa Giron, Trinidad and Varadero- with short stops to look round Cienfeugos and Santa Clara too. The communication and detail was brilliant, with seamless coordination between our driver, guide, concierge and local expert guides. We felt well looked after and well informed. Tiger Lee16 March 2024My tour guide was Henry and he was absolutely ahhmazing! He was the total package! He had everything for every situation, from toilet paper to a fan when it’s hot. He made sure I always felt safe, comfortable and having a good time. He was always professional but also made me laugh a ton. My driver was also excellent and he was fun to ride with, he was funny and easy going. He also was very good at navigating the roads despite the conditions of the street and was a very safe driver. I want them both to guide me in every single Spanish speaking country if possible! I would use this company again! Lotus Lake Camp15 January 2024Traveling with a group of family and friends , we were so well cared for by our guide Tatiana and bus driver Ideis (sp?). The trip was well planned out and executed. Jam packed with activities that allowed us to really get a sense of what Cuban life was like. Spontaneity and flexibility were appreciated a lot. A fabulous experience from salsa lessons to hiking to a waterfall to swim under. Cuban dance with African drumming and a lunch at a farm that was a real farm to table experience. We bought fligts and they supplied visas and legal paperwork We spend 2 nights in Havana at a gorgeous luxury b and B in old Havana and one night in the country side in Vinales in a sweet little organic farmhouse. We saw pottered around old vinyl stores and had a vintage car. Great food and best cocktails ( recommend the rum tasting and mojito making at jibaros restaurant. ) It is such a quick flight and they organized the fast-track at the airport so door to door was a little over 4 hours.
